Call for Nominations: Athletics Canada Board of Directors
There are three Director-at-Large positions to be elected to the Athletics Canada Board of Directors by the Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 26, 2018.
Who are we looking for to join the Board?
We seek to develop a Board of Directors that reflects the diversity of gender, life experience and background that we see at an athletics competition. Directors should share the vision and commitment of Athletics Canada to integrity, excellence and innovation, as described in the strategic plan. The ideal candidates will have leadership experience and expertise in some of the following areas:
- Board experience
- High performance sport
- Participation/sport development
- Paralympic sport
- Financial management
- Risk management
- Human resources
- Non-profit/Public sector management
- Strategic planning
- Government relations
- Contact network (Corporate, foundations etc)
Nominations must be received by Judy McCallum at the Athletics Canada office by: 5:00 p.m. on March 27.
What is Expected of Directors?
Directors meet in person three to four times per year, including at the Semi-Annual General Meeting (SAGM) in early winter and the AGM in summer. Directors are expected to sit on one or two board committees (committee terms of reference may be found in the AC Rules and By-Laws on the website). Directors are also expected to be committed to the development of athletics in Canada.
