New in 2019, Athletics Ontario has partnered with the Ontario Masters create a new joint series, called the AO/OMA Trillium Running Series. The series will no longer be exclusively “road,” which we hope will be well received by those of you who like race trails. We’re even trying something new this year, and we’re adding a snow shoe race in February, to add some fun.

Only sanctioned road races will be added to Athletics Ontario’s event calendar. Race sanctioning process provides a simple, effective method to ensure their safety and protection of runners, race promoters and municipalities. The sanctioning process sets up a number of safety related criteria that a race has to meet and supports the sanctioned races with affordable insurance that covers the perils associated with a road race.

More information on Sanctioning/Approval can be found here. Application forms should be received by the AO Office no later than 35 days prior to the opening day of the competition. This will allow the competition to be listed on the AO website Event Calendar 30 days in advance as required by Athletics Canada.
