Run Jump Throw Wheel
Run Jump Throw Wheel (RJTW) is a national program developed by Athletics Canada that teaches fundamental movement skills and develops physical literacy. Using track and field inspired games, activities and skill challenges lead by instructors specifically trained to teach the fundamentals of running, jumping, throwing and wheeling (for children in wheelchairs).
Our goal is to provide a physical activity program that serves as a strong foundation for all sports. Run Jump Throw Wheel assists children in learning to move efficiently so that they grow into adults who are active, productive and healthy citizens.
Any teacher, sport club coach or community recreation leader is capable of delivering the basic Run Jump Throw Wheel program!

Youth Development Clubs

The Ottawa Lions Track & Field Club has been offering specific programs for youth over the past twenty years. Our current programs provide children with opportunities to develop and improve their athletic abilities while having fun. Our philosophy is that young athletes should develop a wide variety of sport skills. Ideal for young athletes participating in any sport, our program targets the basic skills of running, jumping, and throwing that are an intrinsic part of almost every sport. This will result in children with diverse athletic proficiencies and a higher likelihood of them finding a life-long sport.

The Etobicoke Track & Field Clubs have served the Greater Toronto Area for over 40 years. For the past 11 years, we our Sports Camp offers a unique opportunity in Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke. Designed for children to develop, and improve, their skills in Track & Field; as well as enjoy fun afternoons; swimming, playing soccer, baseball, water balloon football and other activities. All of this under the constant supervision of our qualified and experienced team of instructors and supervisors. Nine weekly sessions running from July 4th through to Sept, 2nd, 2016, are available at reasonable, tax deductible rates.

Our mission at the Border City Athletics Club is to develop athletes, motivating them to strive for athletic excellence and to have aspirations of success in their lives beyond athletics.
Our development program features athletes ages 12 to 14. These athletes will focus on basic developmental skills that will enable them to progress as athletes. Our young athletes are able to experience all track and jumps events. Our goal with our developmental athletes is to provide the skills for all sports in a fun and interactive environment. We work on important skills that will be required by all other sports.

This is a developmental program specifically geared towards the younger athletes in our community. Our objective is to familiarize each athlete with the basic fundamentals of track and field in a fun and motivating environment. Our emphasis is on the personal growth of each individual. Instruction will be centered round the principles of motor development and body awareness with sessions on strength, speed, technique and endurance which are necessary tools for athletes in any sport. We will encourage each athlete’s focus to be placed on achieving personal best performances and not on the competitive nature of the sport. The level of fitness of each individual will increase along with their technical skills in running, jumping, and throwing events.

This program exposes kids to all event disciplines in the sport; endurance, sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws. Our goal is to expose kids to a sport that is the foundation for all other sports and an overall improvement in your child’s athleticism. This will benefit all activities they participate in, and we strongly encourage kids to participate in other sports.
