TWO new records were set by our athletes this weekend at the Dr. Sander Invitational at the Fort Avenue Washington Armory in New York City!
The first new record was set by Kate Van Buskirk. She broke the previous Canadian record in the mile with a new time of 4:26.92! Her time was a 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships standard, a world-leading time, and, a personal best. The previous Canadian indoor record for the mile was 4:27.02, set by Sheila Reid in 2013.
The second record was set by Aurora Rynda. Her new provincial record time of 1:30.69 in the Indoor 600m smashes the old record of 1:32.58! Congratulations to both of these incredible women!
