13 Medals for Ontario at 2018 NACAC Championships in Toronto

The 2018 NACAC Championships (Track and Field in the 6ix) took place this weekend in Toronto, ON. The three-day event took place on the brand new, bright blue track, at the University of Toronto’s Varsity Stadium. The competition was strong but that didn’t stop Team Canada from earning 21 medals, 13 of which were earned by Ontario athletes!

A few highlights from the weekend included the men’s 4x100m relay team, who won the gold, with an incredible time of 38.56 seconds! The team was comprised of AO athletes Aaron Brown, Bismark Boateng, Mobolade Ajomale, as well as Jerome Blake who is a B.C. athlete. Additionally, in the Men’s 800m, Brandon McBride ran 1:46.14, earning himself the gold medal and finishing first of the 1-2, with his Canadian teammate Marco Arop earning the silver! A few other highlights include Crystal Emmanuel, who earned three medals; a silver and two bronze respectively, in the 200m, 100m and 4x100m!
