ATHLETICS ONTARIO

TRACK & FIELD // CROSS COUNTRY

Track & field and cross country are where passion meets possibility as inclusive sports that welcome athletes of every age and ability, with an event and a distance for everyone. From young Rising Stars discovering the joy of their first race to Masters athletes proving that age is just a number, every competitor has the chance to shine. Whether it’s the speed of the sprints, the power of the throws, the precision of the jumps, or the endurance of cross-country, Athletics challenges individuals to test their limits, chase their goals, and celebrate all the milestones along the way.

More than competition, Athletics is a community. It’s where friendships are formed, mentors inspire, and athletes of all levels belong. Whether on the track, in the field, or on the trails, the sport builds strength and confidence while fostering inclusion, resilience, and lifelong connections. At Athletics Ontario, track and field and cross country are where journeys begin, champions rise, and everyone has a place to grow.

ROAD & TRAIL

Athletics Ontario promotes road and trail running, and provides runners of all ages and abilities the opportunity to achieve personal excellence through programs and services founded on the principles of safety and fair play. Training is year round, communities across Ontario host road races for everyone from beginners to pros, while committed trail runners take advantage of our country’s fantastic natural terrain.

Making strides towards a thriving and inclusive running community in Ontario ~ All people, all speeds, all terrains, all abilities are welcome.

PARA ATHLETICS

Para Athletics is an integral and growing part of track and field in Ontario, offering opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities to train, compete, and thrive. One of the sport’s greatest strengths is its inclusivity, with a wide variety of events available across age groups and classifications. In partnership with our member clubs and MSOs, Athletics Ontario provides Para athletes with access to coaching, training, and sanctioned indoor and outdoor competitions across the province.

Events are offered for athletes with physical impairments (both seated and standing), visual impairments, and intellectual impairments, demonstrating that there is truly a place for everyone in Athletics.

MASTERS

Are you 30 and over, live in Ontario, and want to compete in track and field, racewalking, road racing, cross country, or the throwing events? Ontario Masters Athletics is for you!

Whether you want to get back in shape or are a former elite competitor, masters athletics will allow you to compete in a friendly environment with people of your own abilities – competitions happen in 5-year age groups, so no one gets blown off the track by athletes half their age.

We organize indoor track-and-field events in the winter, outdoor track-and-field events in the spring and summer, cross-country races in the fall, and road races in the summer.
