AO After School Athletics 2.0 is HERE!

Athletics Ontario is excited to announce that the After School Athletics virtual program is coming back for 2021! That’s right, we’re be back with more great instructors and classes starting the week of Monday, January 25th!

2020 changed many things, but the emphasis on exercise and physical literacy is more important than ever before. Through the delivery of this virtual program, we hope to offer children ages 6-12 with a safe and fun opportunity to get active at home while introducing the fundamental movements skills of track and field.

We will be offering 3 BRAND NEW classes including Back to Basics for Beginners, Dance Dance Revolution, and Funky Fridays.  Each class will offer a different style of teaching the introductory fundamental movements of track and field in its own creative way!

  • Classes begin the week of January 25
  • Classes are designed for children ages 6-12 to learn the fundamental movements of athletics
  • AO U8, U10, U12 members have FREE and access to all classes
  • Each class will be 30 minutes long and conducted over Zoom by a Run Jump Throw Wheel trained instructor

Let’s get back to the basics! This class is beginner friendly and a great way to focus on moving our bodies and getting strong to help us learn the fundamentals of track & field. Bring your smiling faces and big energy and let’s get moving!

Athletics Dance Revolution – Breaking down the foundations of athletics… with a twist! Join Raymond every Wednesday as we go over the fundamentals of athletics, while incorporating unique dance exercises and upbeat tunes! Work up a sweat, learn new skills and have the opportunity to jam out!

Friday’s at 4:00pm
Starting Friday, January 29


Join Roshana every Friday at 4:00pm to start your weekend off with some fun! This class offers a funky fresh way to learn and practice the fundamental movements of athletics! With a variety of activities, this class will put the FUN back in fundamentals.

Not a member but want to participate? Become a U8, U10 or U12 recreational non-competitive member for only $5! Membership is valid for the rest of the 2021 year. Register: you select your membership type as “Non-Comp. Athlete”, then select “Rec. Athletes (U12)”. If you do not belong to a club, ensure you leave the club affiliation as “Unattached”.
