APRIL 22 – London Becomes a Leader for Para-athletics

Athletics Ontario and the Para-Athletics Collaborative Committee have developed a Hub system in which key resource centres have been identified within the province. London has been identified as one of these key resource centres and as such London-Western Track and Field Club has been designated as an Ontario Para-athletics Hub

As a Hub, London Western TFC is excited to work with local track clubs and to develop meaningful partnerships within the London community. London-Western TFC is looking to recruit more athletes, coaches and volunteers to the para-athletics movement. To this extent, more programming and support will be offered for para-athletes to develop.

London Western TFC President John Stevenson is excited to support the growth of para-athletics in London: “Our coaches have always embraced all athletes that wish to better themselves.  Para athletes leverage the same energy systems and respond to training in similar fashion as their able bodied club mates.”

Anyone interested in para-athletics is encouraged to contact John Stevenson ([email protected]). John welcomes any newcomers to the para-athletics community: “London-Western coaches are willing to work with other interested coaches to answer questions if they are starting out coaching a para-athlete!”
