PARA 2024 Quest For Gold (February 12, 2024) – Athletics Ontario is pleased to announce the “provisional” Para 2024 Quest for Gold Team (dated February 7th, 2024). This list is TENTATIVE, pending the review of appeals submitted through the formal appeals process, which can be found in the 2024 Quest for Gold Athlete Selection Criteria and Appeals Process, linked HERE.

• Before an athlete can file a Notice of Appeal, they must ask Athletics Ontario for reasons explaining why they were not nominated for an ‘Ontario Card’.
• If the athlete is unsatisfied with Athletics Ontario’s response, the athlete may submit a Notice of Appeal document. All appeals are subject to a $25 (plus tax) processing fee.
• Athletes who wish to submit an appeal must submit their appeal to the Selection Committee by the EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR PARA ATHLETES OF February 14th, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET.
• Applicants launching an appeal are asked to read and understand the formal appeals process before submitting their appeal. The details are on pages fourteen and fifteen of the 2024 Quest for Gold Athlete Selection Criteria and Appeals Process. Appeals that do not follow the appeals criteria will be automatically rejected.
• Appeals must be emailed to [email protected] with the required supporting documentation.

The final team will be announced on February 21st, 2024, after all appeals are reviewed and resolved.

AO is thrilled to share the release of the 2024 Quest for Gold program. The Quest for Gold program aims to fund individual athletes in the sport’s Train to Train and Train to Win paths based on their demonstrated commitment to high-performance sport.

The goal is to allow athletes to continue to pursue athletic excellence at the highest levels of national and international competition, ensuring that Canadian athletes are systematically achieving world-class results at the highest levels of international competition. This will be achieved by improving the performance and number of Ontario athletes competing at the national and international levels, contributing to the improved overall performance of Canada at international competitions.

• The application deadline is January 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. WITHOUT EXCEPTION, LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
• It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit complete and accurate applications by the deadline. Corrections submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
