ONTARIO  vs QUÉBEC DUAL MEET – ATHLETE TEAM SELECTION

This annual event is a highly anticipated competition between Ontario and Québec that gives U16 athletes (younger athletes may be added to the team at the sole discretion of the Selection Committee) a chance to live the excitement of a team environment while competing in a friendly scoring competition. This is a development team, so athletes should fall within the Train to Train athlete development category.

The 2025 edition of the Dual Meet will be held on February 1st, 2025, at the Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard in Montréal, Québec, allowing Team Ontario athletes to travel outside the province for the competition.

We’re thrilled to share that the qualification period and athlete declaration portal are now open. We encourage all coaches, athletes, and parents to review the full Athlete Selection Criteria to understand the requirements and expectations before declaring.

ONTARIO vs QUÉBEC DUAL MEET – TEAM STAFF

The ON vs. QC U16 Dual Meet is an annual competition between Ontario and Québec. Its purpose is to provide U16 athletes with an opportunity to compete in a team environment in a friendly scoring competition. This is a development team, and as such, athletes should fall within the appropriate athlete development category of “Train to Train.”

The 2025 Ontario vs. Québec U16 Dual Meet will be held on February 1st, 2025, at the Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard in Montréal, Quebec.

Before the team is selected, Athletics Ontario is currently accepting applications for the Team Ontario Coaching Staff. A maximum of four (4) coaching positions will be available, with two (2) Head Coaches selected from the event coaches outlined below.

  1. Sprints/Hurdle Coach
  2. Endurance Coach
  3. Jumps Coach
  4. Throws Coach

2025 CANADA SUMMER GAMES

In a place like no other, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada’s easternmost city, will host a Canada Games like no other! From August 8th to 25th, the 2025 Canada Games invites Canadians to come and connect through friendship, sport, adventure and the experience that is Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Canada Games is a prestigious national competition held every four years, offering U24, Para, and Special Olympics athletes the chance to represent Ontario in a multi-sport event and compete in a team environment. The 2025 edition will feature 19 sports, with Athletics scheduled from August 19th to 23rd. This is a high-performance development opportunity for athletes, and participants should align with the “Train to Compete” stage of the athlete development pathway. It’s an exciting chance to showcase talent and compete at the highest level!
