Athletics Canada Seeks Event Coordinator

Athletics Canada is the national governing body for the sport of track and field, cross country, road running and road racing.  Athletics Canada supports high performance athletics excellence at the world level and provides leadership in developmental athletics.

The Event Coordinator will work with the Director of Public Relations and Corporate Services to help grow and develop strategies for the financial success and overall brand reach of Athletics Canada event properties.  Notably, the Canadian Track and Field Championship, Canadian Indoor Open, Canadian Junior Track and Field Championship, Canadian Youth Track and Field Championship, Canadian Cross Country Championship, the National Track League, and other events as designated.

The successful candidate possesses strong logistic and planning skills, has a strong business background, including in the area of fundraising, serves as a positive Athletics Canada ambassador and can work flexible hours including travel throughout Canada.


  • Assist Director, Public Relations & Corporate Services in assuring first-rate delivery of major national championships and other designated events hosted in Canada under jurisdiction of Athletics Canada
  • Manage relationships with local organizing groups
  • Support National Track League operations


  • University degree or College Diploma in commerce, business, event management or like field
  • Minimum three years experience in a similar capacity
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is a strong asset
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to multi task
  • Outstanding organizational abilities
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to network with volunteers, members, sponsors and partners


  • Compensation will be determined by successful candidates’ skills and experience.
