This change is only applicable to organized public gatherings. We have confirmed with our Provincial Sport Advisor that AO training sessions and competitions do not fall under organized public events, instead they are recognized as organized sporting events. Therefore, all Athletics Ontario activities will NOT be impacted.
Group gathering limits for all Athletics Ontario activities including training sessions and competitions will remain at a maximum capacity of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors unless otherwise restricted by the local municipality or facility.
The announcement also indicates the closing of indoor gyms and fitness centres (i.e., exercise classes and weight and exercise rooms). We will share information about Ontario facility closures pertinent to the sport of track and field, as they are communicated to us.
