This upcoming weekend Athletics Ontario will be hosting the first Sunnybrook XC Meet of 2022, on Sunday, October 2nd. This event and future Sunnybrook XC Meets are inclusive and a good way to prepare and get a lead-up on the upcoming Provincial Championships in Kingston, Ontario on November 13, 2022. 

Athletics Ontario will also be hosting another two Sunnybrook XC meets this month on October 16th, and 30th if interested in signing up. All three events will be held on their respective Sundays at Sunnybrook Park in Toronto. A more in-depth preview of the event will be below.

The first Sunnybrook XC meet will have three different races which are the 1km race, 2km race, and 4km race (part of Breslin Cup). The first race of the day will be the 1km race which will have a start time of 12:00 pm, the second race of the day will be the 2km race with a start time of 12:20 pm, and finally, the 4km race (part of the Breslin Cup) will be the third and final race of the day starting at 1:00 pm. 

We encourage the participants to get there at least an hour or earlier before their race start time in order to give them enough time to sign in and warm up before the race.

There are a total of 109 different athletes participating from 16 different clubs in this weekend’s Sunnybrook XC meet. The three clubs with the most athletes participating are Glen Manor Track Club with 24 participants, Newmarket Huskies Track Club with 17 participants, and Toronto West Athletics with 10 participants. 

You don’t need to be in a club to register to participate in these meets. For this event, we have 17 athletes participating that are not a part of a club and are participating on their own.

Please feel free to sign up for any of the meets coming up, we encourage everyone to sign up. 

If you do not feel like participating but want to come to support the athletes participating we encourage you to show your support by coming down to Sunnybrook Park on October 2nd, 16th, and 30th and cheer them on!
