The 2013 Canada Summer games came to close on Saturday August 17th with Team Ontario achieving success with an overall winning points total against the rest of the Provinces.
Our Men’s team won their title with 3,697 points. They finished 497.5 points ahead of the 2nd. place Team Quebec who finished with 3,199.5 points. British Columbia finished 3rd. with 2,401.5 points.
Our Women’s team placed second with 2,903.5 points. They finished 374 points behind a very strong Alberta team who achieved 3,277.5 points. Team Quebec finished 3rd with 2,737.5 points.
Team Ontario athletes reached the podium 49 times with the medal breakdown totalling 21 Gold, 16 Silver and 12 Bronze. This medal tally includes our Para athletes and Special Olympians.
Team Ontario athletes also had 6 new CSG records in the Men’s category in the 400m, 800m, 4 x 100m & 4 x 400m Relay, as well in the 100m and 200 Special Olympics division.
