The Johnny Loaring Classic (formerly known as the Windsor Open) is a high performance track & field meet held at Alumni Stadium at the University of Windsor. The name was changed this year in order to honour Johnny Loaring, who is Windsor’s only Olympic medalist in track and field.  Johnny won a silver medal in the men’s 400m Hurdles at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

The high performance nature of the meet is meant to attract runners from all over Canada and around the world to come together and run fast times on a fast track.

Location: University of Windsor Alumni Field, 2555 College Avenue, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, N9B 3P4

Facility: Eight lane track and jump approaches plus javelin runway are all Mondo Super X, concrete throwing circles.

Events Offered: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 100mH, 110mH, 400mH, HJ, PV, SP, DT, HT, JT, Elementary School 4x100m
