Reminder to Athletes:
- For track athletes, the traditional Athletics Ontario check-in/declaration procedure will not be used at this championship. Athletes will report to officials at their specific start line to receive their hip numbers, if applicable, lane assignments, and any specific instructions.
- For athletes that need to get their implements checked on SUNDAY, you must do so before 11:00 AM
- All athletes must complete a waiver in order to pick up their bib at accreditation. Waivers may be emailed in advance to Randolph Fajardo (Entries Chair) – [email protected].
- The waiver can be downloaded by clicking HERE.
Reminder for coaches:
- Coaches will be able to pick up their accreditation at the front entrance. If you are a coach and have not already registered for a coaching pass, please do that here: http://www.trackiereg.com/2021-ao-coaches-pass
- Coaches that attended the U20, Open/Para, U18 & Masters Championships are asked to bring their pass back for the U16 Championship.
- Reminder to coaches to review the performance lists on the live results and to email [email protected] if club affiliations need to be updated for athletes.
- All coaches are asked to send scratches to [email protected]. Refunds will be issued for all scratches received before the late entry deadline of Thursday, August 19 at 10am.
Spectators:
Spectators will NOT be allowed into the facility, as per the Facility Rules for gatherings during COVID. There is ample space along the fence on three sides of the facility for spectators. Spectators are expected to follow COVID distancing and mask wearing.
Coaches, athletes that aren’t competing, and all championship personnel inside the facility are required to wear masks at all times.
Relay Information:
- Reminder for clubs with relay teams, to ensure they email Randolph Fajardo [email protected] if they have members that are only attending the championships for a relay. This will ensure they receive a bib number.
- Teams must have matching singlets when competing in relay races. As per rule 40.3 in the Athletics Ontario Policy and Procedures, small differences in design owing to the uniforms having been manufactured at different times or by different suppliers are permitted. In case of a dispute, the Technical Delegate, or in his/her absence, the Track Referee, shall decide.
- If possible, please have teams have different singlets to identify between an A team and B team. This is not mandatory, but would be appreciated if possible by clubs. For example, if team Ontario had an A team and a B team in the U18 SMR, it would be helpful if the A team wore all white singlets, while the B team wore all red.
- Composite teams (relay teams consisting of different club members) are permitted. These teams are still subject to the rule above. Matching tops/singlets must be worn. Failure to do so will result in a disqualification.
- Composite teams will not displace club medalist. For example, if a relay race had one composite team and this team placed first overall and wins a gold medal, then the overall second place team (a club relay team) would also win a gold medal.
Awards
FOR ALL FIELD EVENTS, officials will present medals to each athlete when they read the final results. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will not be conducting formal medal presentations. Those TRACK ATHLETES who place in medal positions will be asked to pick-up their medal, located directly beside the merchandise pick-up and accreditation. An AO backdrop will be available for self-taken photos.
