Hal Brown set the Canadian HS javelin record in ’35 and was the Ont. LJ champion in ’36. In ’38 Hal won the gold medal in the LJ at the BE Games and set the commonwealth record in the event. Won gold in inter-services games in the LJ in ’45 and set the British Army record. The following year he was national LJ, TJ, and javelin champion. Coached for U of T from ‘48- 70, and coach for the national team at the 60 Olympics. He also won the OFSAA 50-year coaching award (N. Toronto CI).
