Active in Athletics from 1929.

British Commonwealth Games assn ’54 – 76; from ’76 she was honourary vice president and only woman in commonwealth to serve as officer and only woman elected to AAU executive. She was also the only woman elected president of the AAU of Canada branch. Margaret managed the ’36 and ‘52 Olympic teams as well as the ’54 and ’62 Commonwealth Games teams. She was one of two female members on the first national advisory council for fitness and amateur sport. Member of Canadian Olympic sports hall of fame.
