Dennis Fairall has proved to be an outstanding coach in Canadian University history and has been honoured 38 times as the CIS or OUA Coach of the Year in Track and Field and Cross Country. In Dennis’ 26 seasons with the University of Windsor Lancers, his teams have captured 23 Canadian University Cross Country and Track and Field Championships (5 cross country, 18 track and field), in addition to the 43 Ontario University championships (7 cross country, 36 track and field).

Dennis also has international coaching experience where he was head coach of the 1985 and 1989 Canadian Maccabi Games. He also served as the head coach of Team Canada at the 1989 World University Games team in West Germany. In 1989, 1995 and 1999, Dennis was a member of the World University Games Canadian coaching staffs. In 2005, Dennis was the Head coach of Team Canada at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, which was the highest medal count in the history of the event.
