NEW – CAN FUND ATHLETE APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Friday, October, 18, 2013 (5pm EST)

Starting this Monday September 23, 2013 at 10am EST the next CAN Fund athlete application will be available on the CAN Fund website for athletes to begin submitting their applications.  The application deadline is Friday October 18, 2013 at 5pm EST.

The application will be available in French and English for ONLINE submission or direct mail.  You will be able to access the application on our website via this link http://www.canadianathletesnow.ca/about-us/applications-for-funding.html  or  www.MyCANFund.ca (under Athlete Info).

On Monday September 23, 2013 at 10am EST when the application becomes available we will also have posted on our website important information, tips and instructions relating to the application that will help you with the application process.  Please make sure you read that information carefully and in its entirety before you begin your application.

*If you applied to CAN Fund for the January 2013 athlete application deadline we are still in the process of funding athletes from that application and will continue to do so for the next few weeks always with the goal of helping as many athletes as possible.  Each application is a new application so in order to be considered for funding for the Friday October 18, 2013 (5pm EST) application deadline you must apply to CAN Fund.  If you have received CAN Fund already this year you are still eligible to receive it again but must re-apply.

**Also, if you have applied to CAN Fund before you will notice that we added one new section to the application this year for “Athlete Referrals” giving athletes the opportunity to share with us the names of any contacts that you would like to refer to CAN Fund.

ATHLETES WHO CAN APPLY:
-Applications will be accepted from any active national team athlete who is training to represent Canada Internationally.
-Summer, Winter, Able-bodied and Paralympic athletes can apply.
-Each approved athlete recipient receives direct funding of $6,000.
-There are 2 applications a year. Each application is a NEW application. If you have received the CAN Fund already this year you are still eligible to receive it again.
