The Athletics Ontario Board of Directors and Staff were deeply saddened upon learning of the sudden passing of Angela Bailey on July 31, 2021.

The 2014 Athletics Ontario Hall of Fame inductee passed away at the age of 59 after battling cancer under complicated conditions.

“I was saddened to hear of Angela’s passing and fondly remember her as a teammate and friend on the Canadian Olympic team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics”, said Athletics Ontario CEO, Paul Osland.

As our entire community mourns the loss of such a historic and impactful woman, Athletics Ontario offers our deepest condolences to Angela’s family, friends, and loved ones. We find peace in continuing to celebrate her many accomplishments that contributed to the betterment of athletics in Ontario.
