Club activities will be focused on the Run Jump Throw Wheel program, instructing children and youth physical literacy and fundamental movement skills. New protocols have been established by Athletics Ontario featuring guidelines using public health best practices.
Many children and youth during this time may have experienced long periods of inactivity due to school closures and program cancellations, requiring coaches to modify programming to attend to the varying individual needs of the participant and group. In-person sessions have required adaptations to the “new normal” such as distancing protocols and communication alterations in order to engage the children in physical activity while keeping everyone safe.
Clubs have also focused resources on connecting with those unable to attend in person through virtual environments and communication methods to keep the children engaged and supported. Clubs have also focused resources on helping those in particular need or at risk/vulnerable.
