On Sunday, February 2nd Athletics Ontario will host our second and final U8, U10, U12 Try It Day! This meet is designed for youth expressing interest in track and field to have the chance to gain experience, knowledge and skilled about the sport of track & field while competing in a comfortable, safe environment.
As the governing body that is responsible for athletics in Ontario, one of our mandates and missions is to communicate, educate and instruct the proper techniques and skills necessary for participation to all athletes, while continuously striving to grow the sport of track and field.
The meet will run from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Toronto Track and Field Centre (231 Ian MacDonald Blvd, Toronto, ON M7A 2C5). Please arrive by at least 8:45 in order to join our group warm up lead by Team Ontario athletes. Bibs and group assignments will also be handed out as athletes enter the facility.
The meet will offer participants the opportunity to gain experience and compete in five events, including: 50m or 60m hurdles, 300m or 600m, Shot Put (U8 Ball Throw), High Jump (U8 Vertical Jump), Long Jump (U8 Standing Long Jump). Athletes will be able to compete in each event as many times as they would like, within their allotted time at each station. Athletes will be given instructions on how to participate in each event safely.
This event is being offered at a low rate of $5 per athlete. Please register here (click to register) before Noon on Friday, January 31st. No need to register for a specific event, it is a flat $5 fee for the entire competition. Athletes will be ushered from event to event by volunteers.
This is the last instructional prep meet before the U8, U10, U12 Championship on March 7th, 2020.

In the afternoon, the third Indoor Mini Meet of the season will take place, and will also include the Ontario Masters Indoor Pentathlon Championships.
Registration costs $15.00 per event and can be done so on our meet page https://www.trackie.com/online-registration/event/ontario-masters-winter-mini-meet-3/38125/#.XjHABxNKh3k and must be entered before Friday, January 31st at noon. Mini Meet events are open to ALL AGES, so anyone can register to participate.
